Katie Johnson, DPN, serves as the LWVWA Healthcare Issue Chair and will present on League positions regarding healthcare at the national and Washington state levels, including funding constraints in the current legislative session.
Katie is a retired Registered Nurse with a passion for equitable, accessible healthcare. She holds a clinical doctorate in population health nursing and is a Fellow of the National Association of School Nurses and the National Academy of Nursing. She is also a Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow and a Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Fellow.
Katie is active in nursing policy through the legislative committees of the School Nurse Organization of Washington and the Washington State Nurses Association. A League member since 2025, she supports advancing a single-payer, universal health insurance program.
The presentation will be recorded at the Virtual Unit Meeting and shared at other unit meetings, followed by discussion.
