About this event
All League members and the general public are encouraged to attend our November Unit Meetings. This month’s discussion will focus on the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, Washington.
Lydia Zepeda presents a compelling overview of the current conditions for people detained at the center. Lydia will provide insight into the challenges detainees face every day and the actions League members can take to advocate and support them. The presentation has been pre-recorded. Video and presentation content will be shared at unit meetings with discussion to follow.
Lydia is a powerful advocate for immigrant rights who has strong knowledge of local issues in Pierce County and Washington state. She is a member of the Tacoma Commission on Immigrant and Refugee Affairs and the LWVTPC Board of Directors, serving as Board Secretary.
