About this event

Don’t miss! Tacoma’s longtime civic leader Lyle Quasim featured in new film!

Through a series of lively interviews with local leaders and community members, the film highlights Lyle Quasim’s life of service — from the Black Panthers to the presidency of Bates Technical College to founding co-director of Safe Streets to becoming the first Black director of Washington's Department of Social and Health Services.

This film, the latest in a series titled "Our Communities, Our Neighbors", will be shown this spring at two Tacoma Public Library locations:
Saturday, April 18, 2026, 11:00 AM in the Olympic Room, Main Branch
Saturday, May 2, 2026, 12:00 PM at the Moore Branch
