Take Action
As a nonpartisan organization, the League of Women Voters takes political action based on its adopted positions crafted after in-depth study of an issue and membership consensus.
The League of Women Voters of Tacoma-Pierce County encourages elected officials to support policies and practices that align with our positions. To learn more about our work and receive updates on current issues in Pierce County, all are welcome to join us for
Unit Meetings
. The members of the LWVTPC Observer Corps also regularly attend public meetings of elected City or County officials to report on what they observe. Their reports can be found on the
Observer Reports
page.
Following are opportunities for action offered by the League of Women Voters and by allied, non-partisan organizations.

Advocate to End Family Separation Practices by ICE
An estimated 146,000 children who are U.S. citizens have experienced the detention of a parent by ICE. Many of us visiting the Northwest ICE Processing Center are deeply concerned about the trauma and lasting harm these separations cause. If you share this concern, please consider writing a letter to a local newspaper, posting on social media, or contacting your congressional representatives.
